The Community Medical Response Team (CMRT) is an interprofessional team that includes medical, nursing, pharmacy, dental, laboratory and other health students and professionals with the goal of improving community health and wellbeing through active community participation for a more aware, engaged, and healthy community.
Our Story
The CMRT was started during the COVID-19 pandemic to help address the challenges and inequities of the health systems in Sudan. The program was initially focused on COVID-19 prevention and management and has now shifted to focus on general health issues, including community oriented primary care; prevention and management of communicable and noncommunicable diseases; and emergency response.
